The park was big and the RV sites were big and roomy for our family. The ADA shower was nice and I could use it without any trouble but the bathrooms needed to be cleaned, they were always dirty. The office staff wasn't very willing to help with a cancelation of a site we didn't need. The kids enjoyed the lake but a pool would have been nice also. We never made it to the playground because we were to far to walk to it.
My husbands stayed there 6-8 months for work, no problems until 7 months and pipelines crew moved in across from him and they got caught stealing from our campsite, told management, nothing happened to them, they moved us. This whole time had our Lab their no problems after moved us the older man next to us complained our dog barked to much. She only barks when playing, someone at door or when we walk in for a treat. Dogs bark! This is suppose to be family & pet friendly! Not really people were through it knives into picnic tables, shooting bow and arrows, all this into our campsite while we have our 18 month grandson visiting. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone
If you have the money stay in a cabin!
This place was just OK. There was a pond that people can swim in if you don't mind swimming with fish and pond muck and chemically blue waters. The kids were the only ones to venture in. The restrooms were clean but the showers aren't adjustable and you have to keep pushing a button for water throughout your shower. The soap was also out for the entire overnight we were there. Nice playground for kids but no path to anything. You either have to walk all the way around or go through other people's campsites to get to the bathroom, pond or playground. No shade but nice looking cabins. The price was very reasonable but I questions the "Resort" status of this KOA. Not a lot to offer. We went to rent a paddle boat at 10 but we're told they don't usually rent things this early?! We had to wait 30 min for the cook/rental lady to finish cooking to help us out. Not very impressed.
This KOA is awesome. You won't regret coming here.
Well, it's certainly a place to park a camper, the kids were amused by all the little fish in the pond, and if you like paddleboats they've got those. Very little vegetation and no shade anywhere. Parking pad way off level at weird angles requiring complicated block use. Water hookup is very sulphury. Pond is nice enough to look at as long as you don't get to choose and notice the water itself is a bizarre chemical blue color, full of weeds and smelling of duck poo. The kid manning the store in the evening was goofing off with friends. Loud evening movie ended by 10:30, but the screaming kids continued for long afterward, with no enforcement of posted quiet hours. I saw enough of Iowa to like the state well enough, but it certainly wasn't here. This is not the best KOA has to offer. Pass on this one.
