Was not happy with how long it took just to check in to have labs done. I waited 45 min just to be brought back to check in it took another 10 min for this then waited 15 min to have labs drawn. As I waited for lab there are 3 staff behind the counter. So I took 1 hour and 10 min to have a quick poke. They need to work on the check in process.
My husband was admitted over the weekend and his care started off great but went downhill FAST!!! Nurses don't seem to care if your in pain no matter how many times you call them. They don't check on you unless they ABSOLUTELY have to. They make you feel like an inconvenience. House Dr couldn't even find his chart, um, excuse me!!?? One nurse was more concerned about getting her charting done so she could go home even though he was still in pain. And don't EVEN get me started on how long a discharge takes. Come on Covenant!! Start caring about people especially since you charge the price of a mortgage for the crappy care. Next time I'll drive across town to Allen.
My uncle discharged from hospital was terrible. Needed feeding tube formula but was not organized and home health closed. Dr wrote wrong script that pharmacy could not fill so had to go back to 3rd floor and get a floor Dr to rewrite then back to pharmacy to fill. Process took from 8 a to 5 p to complete everything. This is not good all the way around communication hand offs are not there. Some staff really care and look for answers for you but most are just doing a job. When a person in hospital for 12 days it is a great day when you finally get to go home and should not take all day with this type if disorganization. Covenant really blew it. There was a nurse Tammy she helped as much as she could and I feel for her. This was 3rd floor Sat 10/28 Covenant Hospital. I do not recommend I will recommend Allen.
The doctors are great - the Covenant (Mercy) system not so much. Scheduling is a challenge. Adequate staffing is ridiculous. The wait at admissions can be lengthy with one person doing it all. Phone call result in nothing but frustrating automated messages. A new computer system has been incorporated over the last few months - and they were ill prepared to do so resulting in some chaos in the offices. No longer the well-run hospital it used to be.
Everything is great besides them giving your insurance the run around. Meanwhile "your medical bill does continue to age."
