While this isn't the worst Walmart I've ever been in, not even close, neither is it the best. Waterloo Walmart seems to be the poor, ignorant cousin to the Cedar Falls Walmart. Not as clean, not as friendly, not as well stocked. The customer service falls far short.
Great layout for the Supercenter. Easy to go after working 3rd shift and be in and out fast. For geoceries and household items ONLY.
Visiting from Colorado. You have some of the nicest employees. They were so friendly and helpful.
You start to feel dirty just pulling in to the parking lot & it doesn't get any better upon entering the store. After 10 :00 pm IF you can find a cashier count yourself lucky. Then plan on spending nearly 30 minutes in line for the cashier. It's not the cashier's fault, they only have one. Unless you like scanning, bagging, ringing up your groceries & the general unpleasantness that's permeating from the store, this is not the place to go. After waiting in line for 13 minutes, I called Walmart on my phone. Initially the person said "hello" so I asked of this was Walmart & the man quickly hung up.
So I pressed redial & the same man answered. Explained to the man many of us (customers) were in line & the line stretched clear back to clothing. I asked if he would provide an additional cashier to which he replied he already called one & they should be at the checkout in a minute. That is the kind of ball face lie I detest. Needless to say said cashier never showed up & neither did the boob who answered the phone. If you need to go to Walmart my suggestion is go to the Cedar Falls Walmart. Or any other place.
It is not easy getting in and out of this location unless you sneak in through the West entrance of the parking lot. Be prepared, you need to wash your hands after picking up items you might be interested in. Not the cleanest store but that probably has alot to do with the clientele. I haven't visited many stores at 4 in the afternoon where the customers are shopping in their pajama bottoms and slippers.
I understand that the cashiers Manning the self checkouts have to be alert to potential thefts, but hovering a foot away and conspicuously watching every item you ring up is a bit much.
However-do not EVER buy a computer here. Three months, nearly to the DAY, my wireless adaptor goes out?
We'll go across town to Cedar Falls from now on, thanks.

I see way too many employees walking around staring at their phones. The guy who is usually working the can room, while friendly enough, is a bit...off putting.
